Black and White Gorp
This is a sophisticated dessert gorp to enjoy in flight or on the commute. Black sesame seeds are said to be higher in antioxidants than the pale ones. They add crunch and class to this sweet snack.
8-ounce can almond paste
Black sesame seeds to taste
12-ounce package miniature marshmallows
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 cup  raisins
2 cups blanched almonds

Use the back of a spoon to work sesame seeds into almond paste to taste. Form the mixture into small balls. Set aside. Put marshmallows in a large bag, breaking them apart if necessary and add powdered sugar. Shake bag to coat any sticky spots on the marshmallows. Add raisins and almonds and shake again. Lastly add the sesame balls and jostle gently to mix well. Package in snack bags.

Gorp makers tip: packaged homemade gorp makes attractive party favors for any group, any age. Buy inexpensive sandwich bags, the tuck-close and not the zip-close type. Add a scoop of gorp, bring up edges of bag and tie with a pretty ribbon.
